Volunteering at the Canton Palace Theatre

You may not be aware of this, but most of the staff at our movies and events are volunteers who give of their time and energy to make sure that Palace happenings go off without a hitch.  Some of them have been around for many years; they almost seem like part of the Palace’s history.  Many are new to Canton or to the downtown scene, and were just desiring a way to give back to the community and get connected to Canton’s glorious past and exciting future. Regardless, all of these hardworking, generous and energetic individuals are part of the story of keeping our Theatre going.

Volunteers are needed every weekend (Thursday-Sunday) and occasionally during the week, depending on the event schedule.  Shifts usually begin at 6:30 PM, and generally last for 2-3 hours.

And the perks are great!

  • You get to see various live events and movies for free.
  • You have the opportunity to earn free movie passes.
  • You get an invitation to our annual banquet, with great food, fun and award for volunteer efforts.
  • You get to be a part of a passionate and exciting non-profit organization, doing its part to keep a bit of Canton history alive.
  • You may possibly become involved on the Board or professional staff down the road; many of the personnel who now lead the Palace started as volunteers!

Will you consider being part of the Palace story by volunteering with us?
