While the theatre is closed to the public, the Canton Palace Theatre technical staff has been working to keep the theatre looking its best. Several maintenance projects that require the theatre to be closed have been moved up to be completed during this time. The biggest of these projects was the repainting of the stage. After prepping, sanding, painting, and painting some more, the stage is looking beautiful! Check out the progress pictures here:

A favorite summer tradition for families in Stark County
Canton, Ohio, April 3, 2023— The Canton Palace Theatre presents the eight-week movie series Summer Kids Movies. The movies will begin at 1pm, with doors opening at 12pm. Admission is $2.00 and group reservations are available by calling 330-454-8172 up until 4pm on the Friday before the movie showing. All tickets are sold at the door the day of the movie showing.

June 19 – Soul
June 26 – Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile
July 3 – DC League of Super Pets
July 10 – Hotel Transylvania 4: Transformania
July 17 – Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch
July 24 – Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

August 7 – Turning Red
The Summer Kids Movie Series, now in its 20th year brings children and adults from all parts of our community, including many summer camps and child-care facilities. The concession stand is always open, serving movie theatre favorites including popcorn, soft drinks, water and candy.

An eight-week movie series tailored to audiences on the Autism Spectrum
Canton, Ohio, April 2, 2023. The Canton Palace Theatre is pleased to once again present the eight-week movie series Sensory Cinema on Monday evenings throughout the Summer. The movies will begin at 6:30pm, with doors opening at 6pm. Admission is $2.00 and seating is general admission.
The 2023 schedule of films include:

The Theatre environment will be tailored to the attendees on the Autism Spectrum and their families. This includes lower levels of sound and theater lights remain on, dietary sensitive offerings in the concession stand including gluten and dairy free options, trained staff and family restrooms.
“We reached out to local partner – Love, Andrew Autism Foundation – in 2017, to make sure we have addressed many of the issues that prevent families with children or adults on the Spectrum from attending movies. We are thankful for all the guidance and education they provided us,” said Georgia Paxos, Executive Director of the Canton Palace Theatre. She continued, ”We look forward to this fifth annual season of Sensory Cinema and continuing to provide entertainment options in the future for all families in our area.”
Autism is the fastest growing and most severe developmental disability in the U.S. today, with the National Health Institute reporting prevalence in one in every 68 births nationwide. Programs, like Sensory Cinema, foster inclusion and acceptance for children with autism and their families.
