The Canton Palace Theatre, one of Ohio’s most treasured historic performing arts venues, will celebrate its 100th Anniversary with an unforgettable weekend of entertainment, history, and community celebration November 20–22, 2026.
Kristin Chenoweth is an Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer whose acclaimed career spans Broadway, television, film, voice acting, and live performance. She earned a Tony Award for You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown and received another Tony nomination for originating the role of Glinda in Wicked. She won an Emmy Award for her performance in Pushing Daisies and has appeared in numerous hit productions including Glee, The West Wing, Trial & Error, American Gods, Disney’s Descendants, and Hairspray Live!. In recognition of her remarkable career, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015.
A celebrated vocalist, Chenoweth has performed to sold-out audiences around the world, including prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall. Her recordings have topped the Billboard jazz charts, and her album For the Girls pays tribute to legendary female vocalists while featuring collaborations with artists including Ariana Grande, Dolly Parton, Jennifer Hudson, and Reba McEntire. She has also starred in numerous films and television productions while continuing to earn critical acclaim for her work on stage and screen.
Beyond her accomplishments as a performer, Chenoweth is deeply committed to arts education and philanthropy. Through the Kristin Chenoweth Theatre in her home state of Oklahoma, her annual Broadway Bootcamp, and her educational initiative Places! The Kristin Chenoweth Tour Experience, she has helped inspire and mentor countless young performers. A graduate of Oklahoma City University with a master’s degree in Opera Performance, Chenoweth is also an inductee into both the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, reflecting her enduring impact on the performing arts.
A Century of Community
Completed in 1926, the Canton Palace Theatre remains one of Ohio’s finest examples of atmospheric theatre architecture and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, the Palace welcomes more than 300 events annually, including concerts, films, educational programming, theatrical-style productions, and community performances, serving as a cultural cornerstone for Northeast Ohio.
The Centennial Celebration Weekend is both a tribute to the theatre’s remarkable past and an invitation for the community to help launch its next 100 years.
